DR. PETER PIRNEJAD
Senior Director of Global Public Sector
Dr. Pirnejad currently leads Oracle's global public sector industry strategy team. In this role he helps provide Oracle directional leadership in how best to serve the needs of the public sector today and into the future. Oracle has served the public sector since its inception over 40-years ago and continues to be a leader in innovation. Dr. Pirnejad brings a depth of knowledge, experience and perspective to this role.
Dr. Pirnejad, came to Oracle in 2018 with over 20 years local government experience in public administration, the most notable of which were the City of Napa where he served as the Assistant City Manager and the City of Palo Alto where he served as the Development Services Director. During that time, Peter received awards complimenting his team’s ability to develop policies that advance sustainability, building safety, and collaboration. His passion for advancing government technology earned him a range of innovation awards as well as a seat on a number of private sector boards committed to promoting innovation in government, including Alliance for Innovation and CivStart.org. Dr. Pirnejad has also served on a number of public sector membership boards and commissions including as president of the CA League of Cities Planning Department as well as on the conference planning committee of the International City/Council Managers Association. Dr. Pirnejad speaks at conferences, collaborates with local government leaders, provides thought leadership, and enables Oracle representatives and partners to focus on the public sector, helping Oracle bring leading edge services to market. Dr. Pirnejad has a BA in Environmental Studies and Geography from UC - Santa Barbara, a Masters and Doctorate in Policy, Planning and Development from the University of Southern California.
