Nader Afzalan

Advisor, Community and Economic Resilience

California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research

I am a solution-oriented Ph.D. who applies research, communication, and analytical skills to provide human-focused solutions. In my current role at California Homelessness Coordinating and Financing Council, I manage a team to design and develop the first integrated homelessness data warehouse for the State of California to support policymaking and inter-agency collaboration.

With 15+ years track record of managing, researching, and implementing projects that intersect city, technology, data, and planning, I have consistently worked with collaborators from governmental organizations, industry, academia, and non-profit organizations. These experiences have resulted in managing and implementing projects in the U.S., China, and the Middle East that intersect policy, planning, and technology.
