NILES FRIEDMAN

Niles is a global cross-sector leader specializing in new business and
product creation. Over the last 10+ years, he’s focused on building
innovation capacity and functions, creating technology strategic
planning programs, and instilling sustainable culture change across
the U.S. federal government, State of California, Los Angeles County,
and international health ministries.

He is a founding Executive Advisor with Star Insights a strategic
advisory firm based in Los Angeles working with social impact
organizations and leaders. As a Strategic Advisor with the CEO’s
Office for Los Angeles County, he advised and delivered on functions
such as technology-driven strategic planning, innovation, and was part
of the core leadership team that launched the County’s first Analytics
Center of Excellence.

Niles worked with the California Health and Human Services Agency to
establish their Office of Innovation that improves the delivery of
services through human-centered design approaches, digital services,
and insights from data and analytics. During the Obama Administration,
he served as a Senior Advisor with the U.S. Small Business
Administration.

While living and traveling across the continent of Africa, he served
as Vice President with BroadReach Corporation and launched a global
commercial market development division to improve product and service
access in collaboration with health system leaders, government
agencies, and private sector partners.

He has a Master of Public Health in Management and Public Policy from
Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University.

When he’s not exploring new cities and countries, Niles enjoys
photography, live sporting events, and being a first-time proud uncle.
