Steve has led with a focus on utilizing limited resources for critical services, practical financial management and meaningful public engagement. In 2019, Lane County’s bond rating was raised for the second time in two years, to the second highest rating provided to public agencies. Lane County was ranked the third healthiest employer in Oregon and in the top 100 healthiest employers in the nation in 2019. He is the president-elect of the National Association of County Administrators (NACA).
