Code for America

Amanda is the CEO of Code for America (CfA), a non-profit, social impact organization that helped launch the civic tech ecosystem. Today, CfA partners with governments and community-based organizations leveraging technology to create ‘a government by the people, for the people in the digital age’. CfA focuses on programs that strengthen the social safety net, increase access to tax benefits, automate record clearance, and empower local initiatives to alleviate poverty and advance equity. Most recently, CfA was recognized for their mobile-first tax credit portal to combat child poverty in partnership with the White House and was selected for an Audacious Project and investment of $100 million to improve state safety net systems that would unlock benefits for 13 million people across the country. In addition to leading Code for America, Amanda is a paid contributor to the BBC and ABC News on policy and political matters in the United States and serves on several non-profit boards, including the President’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs and the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity (TACRE).
