Becky O'Meara
Health & Wellbeing Program Manager
National League of Cities
Becky O’Meara is a Program Manager on the Health & Wellbeing team at the National League of Cities (NLC) Center for Leadership, Education, Advancement, and Development (LEAD), where she leads the Healthy Housing and Mental Health portfolios. Becky joined NLC in July 2022 and is working with cities, towns, and villages across the country to build local capacity in improving health and wellbeing through cross-sector collaboration and systems change approaches. Becky leads the continued development and implementation of the Healthy Housing Local Action Challenge and Framework, which outlines key action areas and strategies communities can take to address health hazards in homes. She is also developing supports for local leaders in addressing mental health challenges, both at the municipal level and on behalf of residents.
Prior to NLC, Becky worked in the field of preventing and ending homelessness, with an emphasis on systems approaches, data analysis and reporting, providing technical assistance to individuals, groups, and organizations. Becky has worked with Simtech Solutions, Inc. based in San Diego, CA, as a Community Impact Advisor; with Camillus House in Miami, FL, as the Director of Quality and Outcomes; and with The Planning Council in Norfolk, VA, as a Community Planner and Program Manager for System Performance and Data Integrity, with all roles dedicated to improving system performance and increasing data literacy and maturity.
Becky is thrilled to be applying her skills in the health and wellbeing space, helping municipalities forge or strengthen new or existing coalitions and better understand and use their local data to drive strategy, as well as continuing to advance collaboration and systems of care. As a macro-level social worker, Becky values “starting where communities are,” and having them drive their process at their pace, while providing strategic guidance and support.
