CivStart Launches Application for 2023 Cohort of Govtech Startups

CivStart has announced the launch of the application process for its 2023 cohort of govtech startups.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 11, 2023) - Startups can now apply for CivStart’s two-year-long govtech acceleration program, which features a wide range of benefits and a unique approach to the growing state and local government technology market. CivStart is the non-profit innovation hub dedicated to building an honest and inclusive ecosystem of local government leaders and the innovations that will support their communities.

Over the past four years, CivStart has successfully provided capacity-building, networking, and resources to over forty startups through its annual accelerator program. The mentor network at CivStart consists of experts from both public and private sectors in government technology, startup strategy, investment, and other key knowledge domains. The ever-growing curriculum library at CivStart includes dozens of lessons, taught by a combination of public and private-sector experts.

CivStart's past cohorts have met some of our communities' greatest needs, from infrastructure to sustainability and climate resilience to water utility technology, community engagement platforms, and more. In just the past four years, cohort companies have raised over $108 Million in capital, with nearly three-quarters of cohort companies experiencing 2x growth in their annual recurring revenue (ARR).

"We're excited to open the application process for our 2023 cohort and welcome the next wave of govtech startups," said Anthony Jamison, CEO of CivStart. "Our accelerator program provides a unique opportunity for startups to gain the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to succeed in the local government market."

The application process for CivStart's 2023 cohort is now open, and interested startups can apply on the CivStart website. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2023.
