CivStart has chosen eight startup companies to join its accelerator program focused on providing local governments with affordable and innovative solutions to their biggest challenges.
WASHINGTON, DC, September 6, 2023 – CivStart, a non-profit innovation hub for state and local government, has unveiled the eight startup companies set to participate in CivStart’s fifth annual Govtech Accelerator Program. Carefully chosen through a rigorous vetting process overseen by CivStart's selection committee comprising both former and current public and private-sector leaders, these solutions are already aligned with public-sector needs.
These startups represent the most innovative approaches to solving key local government and community challenges. Their founders have been selected ispecifically because of their civic-minded dedication to improving our cities, counties, states, and communities. The CivStart Accelerator program will last 24 months and includes strategic guidance, mentorship, education, and a host of valuable resources that can scale these technologies across the country.
“Our latest group of startups features an impressive group of founders meeting a diverse array of challenges,” Anthony Jamison, CEO of CivStart, said in a statement, “There is a clear need for the public sector and entrepreneurs to build stronger, more trustworthy relationships so that we can derisk the future our communities deserve.”
Mike Baumwoll, CEO of Rep’d added, “as a founder focused on building the next generation of GovTech, we're thrilled to be partnering with leaders and experts in the space to help hone our narrative and technology.”
This cohort of 8 startups joins an existing 42 govtech startups in the CivStart Accelerator’s portfolio. The startups will be matched with mentors from CivStart’s Mentor Network, learn from experts across the govtech sector, receive unique access to support from established companies, and get opportunities to present to, and learn from, the experience of public-sector leaders.
